Attempt to Pick Up Missed Roadside Recycling Routes on Tuesday, January 9
Customers on missed routes may use convenience sites or wait for next regular pickup
Durham, N.C. – Durham County roadside recycling pickup routes that were missed due to last weeks’ inclement weather will have one final attempt to collect on Tuesday, January 9. Thursday and Friday pickups were changed due to the wintry precipitation and hazardous road conditions, but some routes were not picked up.
“While every effort is being made to provide pickups to the routes missed, Durham County residents may take their roadside recycling to one of our four convenience sites, or wait for their next scheduled pickup date,” said Durham County Solid Waste Program Manager Chrissie Koroivui. “We will also allow extra recycling outside of bins for those routes affected on their next regularly scheduled pickup.”
A full list of missed routes is available at: http://www.dconc.gov/government/departments-f-z/general-services/solid-waste-recycling-and-litter-control.
Residents may take their recycling to one of the Durham County convenience site locations:
- Parkwood, 5928 Highway 55
- Redwood, 100 Electra Road
- Bahama, 9008 Quail Roost Road
- Rougemount, 108 Bill Poole Road
The exception to allow extra recycling outside of bins on the next scheduled pickup date on affected routes is one-time only due to the weather. If citizens have extra recycling outside their bin, place it next to it and crews will pick them up.
