Facts:

  • Durham County Government is moving into the next phase of the redevelopment of two County-owned sites located at the 300 and 500 blocks of East Main Street.
  • In February 2018, community input was sought on the public vision for the county-owned sites. The input gathered from the three previous sessions was used to shape the guiding public interests for development on these sites.
  • The Durham Board of County Commissioners is now seeking input on two proposed development plans. Both plans under consideration feature a mix of multifamily market and affordable housing, ground-floor office and retail space, and parking.  The commissioners will use the input to make next-step decisions regarding potential development.
  • The public is invited to attend one of three input sessions, scheduled July 17th, July 28th and August 2nd, to learn about and provide feedback on the proposed plans.

Residents are strongly encouraged to attend a face-to-face session. Those unable to attend can complete an online feedback form regarding the proposed development plans by visiting https://unc.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3gxAMSbPJV6l6WV
