Office of Tax Administration
In Durham County, Tax Assessor and Tax Collector are combined into a single office responsible for listing, appraising and assessing real and personal property. The Office of Tax Administration is also responsible for the maintenance of all property maps, property ownership changes, collection of all current and delinquent taxes, room occupancy taxes; collection of fees associated with solid waste, sewer, street assessments, Beer and Wine Licenses, as well as county owned parking facilities.
The mission of this Office is to ensure that all citizens are provided a fair, accurate and equitable ad valorem taxation process. Our vision is to have the most technologically advanced, user friendly Tax Administrator’s Office in the United States.
Last day for persons holding others’ tangible personal property for storage, sale, renting, or any other business purpose to make required ownership reports to county assessor
