County Veteran Services to Hold Two (2) Saturday Benefits Fairs
Free events are April 21 in Durham and April 28 in Bahama
Durham, N.C. – The Durham County Department of Veteran Services is holding a pair of weekend benefits fairs – on Saturday, April 21 and Saturday, April 28 – where veterans and their dependents will be able to get assistance with filing claims for a number of VA benefits, such as: compensation, pension, survivors’ benefits, life insurance, and burial benefits. Veterans will also be able to register for U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs medical care and apply for other state and local veteran benefits.
The event on the 21st is scheduled for 8:30 a.m.-noon inside the community wide conference room on the second floor of the Human Services Building, 414 E. Main St., in downtown Durham. For this claims clinic, veterans from the Vietnam era are particularly encouraged to attend.
The event on the 28th will take place at the Bahama Ruritan Club, 8202 Stagville Rd., Bahama, NC, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
