Emergency Management Encourages Residents to Assess and Report Storm Damages

A Quick Form Allows Residents to Easily Share Property Damage Caused by Hurricane Florence

DURHAM, N.C. – From start to finish, Hurricane Florence had its ups and downs. The strain of preparedness was felt leading up to the hurricane with some of the greatest stress coming on Monday when it dumped up to nine inches of rain in about 12 hours on Durham County.


Now that the hurricane is gone Durham City-County Emergency Management encourages residents and businesses with structural damages to their property resulting from Hurricane Florence to assess and report damages right away. Damages identified can be reported through an online Damage Assessment Form found at


Durham City-County Emergency Management will collect and analyze submitted information. Damage Assessment Teams will be dispersed to the reported locations for further review and determine eligibility for state or federal assistance.
