ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECT QUESTIONED

Durham, N.C. –  Shortly before 5:30 p.m. Sunday evening, deputies from the Durham County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Joy Mart on Glenn School Rd.   A man, who was wearing a mask and gloves entered the store, threatened the clerk with a handgun and demanded money.  After receiving cash from the register he left the store, got in a gold Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck and fled north on I-85.  Deputies provided a description of the vehicle and Granville County deputies initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle matching the description at the Vance Granville County line.

Investigators from the Granville County Sheriff’s Office suspect the same person was involved in two similar armed robberies in that county Saturday, November 17, 2018.  Durham County investigators are working with Granville county at this hour and charges are pending.

No further information is available at this time.
