County Announces Delayed Opening for December 12th
Most Non-Essential Offices to Open at 10 a.m. and Libraries to Open at 11 a.m.
Durham, NC – Warmer weather helped to thaw out areas of Durham today, however, early morning travel may be challenging after temperatures drop below freezing overnight. Taking a cautionary step, Durham County Government will delay opening its offices on Wednesday, December 12, 2018. Most non-essential offices will open at 10 a.m. Library locations will open at 11 a.m. The County will use the time prior to opening to prepare parking lots and passage ways for safe navigation tomorrow.
The following services offered by the County will be delayed or cancelled this week:
County Convenience Sites
The Durham County General Services Department will open its four Solid Waste and Recycling Convenience Sites at 10 a.m. on December 12th.
Roadside Recycling Collection
Durham County Roadside Recycling Collection will continue to be delayed by one day for routes scheduled for the remainder of the week.

Durham County Library locations will open at 11 a.m. on December 12th. All DCo Library staff should report by 10 a.m.
Residents should note that Durham’s District Civil, District Criminal, Superior Civil, Superior Criminal Courts and the Clerk of Superior Court will open at its normal time of operation at 8:30 a.m. on December 12th.
