He is currently in the Durham County Detention Center charged with attempted first degree murder and discharging a weapon into occupied property - inflictingserious bodily injury.His bond is $1,000,000. He will make a first court appearance this morning.
5:00 p.m. Update:Sheriff's Office investigators have identified a suspect in this incident.26-year-old Alarius Montreal Liles is believed to have shot Brian Swaringen* in his home on Monday night.Liles is wanted on charges of shooting into an occupied dwelling and attempted murder. Durham, NC -At approximately 10:50 p.m.Monday night, Durham County communications received a call regarding a person shot inside a home located at 806 Hancock St. in Durham County.When deputies arrived, a resident of the home was located with a gunshot wound to the head. He is beingidentified as Brian Swarington, 41, of the home. Mr. Swarington was taken to a local hospitalfor treatment of non-life threateninginjuries.Investigators are continuing to gather evidence in this case.
