Input from Residents Sought for Eno-Haw Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan
Durham, NC – The time has come for the Eno-Haw Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan to be updated. Durham County along with Alamance, Orange, and Person counties are working together to update the plan required to maintain eligibility for future pre- and post-disaster funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Participation and input from residents during the plan update process is valuable!
According to Durham County Emergency Management Division Chief Leslie O’Connor, “the Eno-Haw Mitigation Plan will help involved counties and incorporated municipalities to identify hazard risks, understand vulnerability, and develop ways to proactively mitigate these risks.” A public meeting to provide information on the planning process and identified hazards will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2019, at 5:30 p.m., at the Whitted Human Services Building located at 300 West Tryon Street, Hillsborough, NC 27278. During the meeting, feedback from the public will be gathered, as well as, additional opportunities for public involvement will be covered.
The meeting will be live streamed on the @AlertDurham Facebook page. Followers are invited to submit questions on the live stream to be answered during the public meeting.
