Voter Mailings from the Center for Voter Information (CVI)
Durham, N.C. - The Durham County Board of Elections is aware of voter registration mailings being distributed to several individuals in Durham County and across the State of North Carolina by an entity known as The Center for Voter Information (CVI). According to recent information received from this entity, over 11,000 mailers have been sent to individuals in Durham County. These mailings have been sent to individuals that the organization has identified as unregistered or meets other criteria based on an algorithm that the entity has developed. These types of mailings from third party groups are not uncommon preceding larger election cycles. Much of the information generated in these mailings are derived from publicly available voter registration lists.
