Arrest Made in School Threat

Durham, NC – (December 9, 2019) As a result of a criminal investigation into threats of violence made at Jordan High School in November, the Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 16-year-old.
That person has been charged with making a false report concerning mass violence on educational property. This is a felony charge punishable by jail time and restitution.

The Sheriff’s Office would like to reiterate that we take every threat of violence in our schools seriously and will investigate each one to ensure the safety of the children of Durham County.We encourage parents and caretakers to have a conversation with their children about the consequences of making such threats.
