Department of Social Services (DSS) Board

The Durham Social Services Board was established pursuant to North Carolina General Statute Chapter 108A, Article 1, Section 108A-1. The board is responsible for the administration of Durham County social services by selecting the director, developing policies to improve social conditions, presenting a budget to the Board of County Commissioners and administering public assistance.
