Commissioner meetings
The public is welcome to attend Board meetings. Residents may attend meetings in person, via Zoom, or watch live online and on DTN. There is no sign-up sheet or request form to attend meetings, however, it is important to note that there are limited seating options.
A low-capacity overflow seating area is provided in the lobby on the second floor of the Administration Building. Individuals seated in the lobby can view the meeting on screens.
While social distancing will be established with seat arrangements, in-person attendees are reminded of the benefits of masking while in indoor spaces populated by others. Residents who wish to observe meetings are encouraged to continue using the virtual option and watch live on the County’s website.

Joining Meetings Virtually
The information for joining the meeting virtually is as follows:

Residents may deliver comments on agenda items for the meeting in person or virtually.

In-Person Speaking Option
- Regular Sessions: All speakers must give their full name and address to give public comments and complete the Public Comments (Agenda Items only) form and submit it to the Clerk prior to the start of the meeting to speak before the Board. Public Comment forms are also provided at the meeting. Rules for Public Comment on Agenda Items can be found here.
- Work Sessions: All speakers must give their full name and address to give citizen comments and complete the Citizen Comments form and submit it to the Clerk prior to the start of the meeting to speak before the Board. Hybrid Speaking Option
- All speakers must submit their full name and address via email or telephone to the Clerk to the Board at clerk@dconc.gov or 919-560-0025. These submissions must be completed by 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 8th.
- All virtual participants will be muted upon entry to the meeting. If they are signed up to speak, they will be unmuted individually by the Clerk’s office when it is their turn to speak.

Access Meetings Live on Durham Television Network
The virtual option aligns with social distancing requirements which ensure the safety of citizens who wish to participate as well as Board members and Durham County Government staff. Citizens who wish to view the BOCC meeting can watch rebroadcasts on the Durham Television Network, which is available on AT&T U-verse channel 99, Spectrum channel 8, and Frontier Communications channel 70. The meeting will also be streamed live on the County’s website and on the County’s YouTube Channel.

The Durham County Soil and Water Conservation District wants to celebrate an outstanding conservation educator! Nominate a teacher for the Conservation Education Teacher of the Year Award. Free NC Voter Photo ID Outreach Event on March 14 - The Board of Elections will continue to host free NC Voter Photo Identification Card outreach events for registered Durham County voters throughout 2026! Each month, staff will be at one of the Durham County libraries to distribute free IDs, assist with voter registration, and answer any questions. Join us at the North Regional Library on March 14 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Creek Week - Creek Week 2026 is coming up March 14–21! This annual spring event invites everyone to learn about, explore, and help protect our local waterways. Durham County Stormwater will host several activities, including the Connected Currents Panel, Trivia Night, the Creek Critter Crawl, and more. For details, contact ekinsey@dconc.gov. The Durham County Open Space Program will host a guided nature walk at the New Hope Creek Bottomlands Trail on Friday, March 20. Participants are asked to RSVP for this event. Public Safety Career Exploration Camp – Applications are now being accepted for the annual North Carolina Emergency Management Experience. Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to join a free, five‑day public safety career exploration camp for young women in grades 9–12. Extended Clinic Hours - The Durham County Department of Public Health will offer extended hours for its family planning, STI, and immunization clinics on the second Tuesday of each month, beginning Tuesday, March 10. Clinics will remain open until 6:00 p.m., providing an opportunity for guests to schedule appointments for sexual health testing, COVID vaccinations, measles vaccinations, and more.
