Durham County Government has approximately 43 active advisory boards referred to as Boards and Commissions. Citizens of Durham County may volunteer to participate by applying for a vacancy. A description of the boards can be found below.

All applications submitted will be kept on file for one year and be considered for future vacancies. You may submit an application even if there are no current vacancies listed on the board you are interested in.

To be eligible to serve on a Durham County board or commission, you must be:

- A Durham County resident
- At least 18 years old unless applying for a designated youth-only seat
- Current with your Durham County and City personal and property taxes
